It’s 5:55pm.
The next 30 minutes are the part nobody helps with.
Reset knows the hours you drink in: after work, while cooking, once the kids are in bed. It turns up 10 minutes before, with a plan for that hour. Then it asks one question — did you get through it?
No app on your phone. Nobody in the house needs to know.
What time of day do you drink?
Pick one to read the plan Reset would send. Nothing is saved and nothing is sent. In Reset you type your own hour.

the email lands
- the swap
- Boots off, kettle on, eat something. Nothing gets decided in the first half hour you're home.
- the wait
- Wait 30 minutes, have a shower, walk the dog, eat something, then see if you still want a drink.
- your reason
- so I stop waking up at 4am
Reset is not open yet. This is what lands, 10 minutes before the hour, from a sender and a subject line that give nothing away.
Why the hour
Almost nobody fails at the level of intention. They fail at the level of the hour. Drinking lives in fixed slots: the beer after work, the glass poured while cooking, the bottle once the house is finally quiet.
Counting the days afterwards does nothing for the 20 minutes that decide the day. Reset is built the other way round. Something happens before the hour, in your own words, and the count of slots you got through only ever goes up.
Do I really have a problem? Plenty of people are worse than me.
Reset never congratulates you, never scores you, and never treats one drink as the end of anything. If you drank, it asks what you can learn and changes tomorrow’s plan. There is no score to lose and nothing that goes back to zero.

The thoughts that come with it
- Everyone drinks. Why can’t I?
- I had one, so I’ve blown it.
- What do I even do with a Friday now?
- I’m on my own with this.
You can talk to Reset at any hour, and it answers the thought rather than the behaviour. It says plainly that it is software. If you are in danger, it stops and points you to a person.
